If there’s one venue that never fails to inspire us, it’s Deer Park Country House in Honiton. With its elegant Georgian architecture, sprawling lawns, and romantic walled gardens, it’s the perfect canvas for cinematic wedding films.
Here’s a look behind the lens of one of our recent wedding shoots at this stunning Devon venue.
Setting the Scene
We started the day with some beautiful establishing shots of the grounds—drone footage of the tree-lined drive, the glasshouse catching the morning light, and slow pans of the ceremony space being prepared. The lighting here is soft and golden, especially in the afternoon.
Getting Ready in Style
The bridal suite offers large windows with perfect natural light. We captured those quiet, emotional moments: bridesmaids arranging dresses, final touches of makeup, and the bride reading a letter from her partner.
Ceremony in the Glasshouse
The ceremony took place in the Orangery-style glasshouse, filled with greenery and light. The sound of vows echoed softly, and the expressions of family and friends made for some of the most moving close-ups we’ve filmed all year.
Cinematic Walkthrough of the Grounds
After the ceremony, we guided the couple to the walled garden and orchard—ideal for slow-motion walks, genuine laughter, and those editorial-style portraits that look straight out of a film.
Golden Hour & Reception
The sun began to dip just in time for the speeches, giving us golden tones that made the reception space glow. We captured reactions, toasts, tears, and laughter from every angle.
The Final Shot
Our day ended with a wide drone shot of the venue lit by festoon lights, the newlyweds dancing in the courtyard. A perfect close to a perfect day.
Whether you’re planning a large celebration or something more intimate, Deer Park offers a little bit of everything for the modern couple—and for your videographers.
